Real Estate Experience
I cut my teeth flipping houses with my dad in the 1970’s in Southern California, and have been active in Real Estate investing, property management and caretaking all of my life.
Recently, I have participated financially and/or physically in three residential real estate flips, two rental investments and three primary residence acquisitions.
My love affair with The Big Island began in 2011 when I started looking for land to buy. On my first visit to The Big Island in February that year, I became a student of properties south of Hilo, including the second largest private subdivision in the United States - Hawaiian Paradise Park. It took about a year and a half to set everything in motion, and make the move to Hawaii. In September of 2012, with my wife of 35 years, I made the move from Boise, Idaho following our son and two grandchildren to paradise. Since landing on the Big Island, I have invested in clients who have become friends. I have cared for and managed properties in Hawi, Kapaau, Waikoloa Beach Resort, Kukio, Hualalai, and Honokaa. Recently, I have been extending my knowledge base to Na’alehu and Hawaiian Ocean View Estates (HOVE), the largest private subdivision in the United states with over 10,000 1 acre lots. The Big Island is a VERY big place with lots of wide open spaces still available at affordable prices.
During my 17 year career with Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, I worked my way up from production line operator to Senior Engineer and International Technology Transfer Manager. As an innovator and inventor (US Patent #7939877), I love learning new technology, and will use the latest tools available to serve my clients to the best of my ability.
My unique analytic talents coupled with a passion to connect buyers and sellers drive me to finding outstanding Real Estate solutions for my clients. As a full time Real Estate professional, you can expect excellent customer service. No detail is too small. Windermere provides the resources to answer all your questions. High integrity & confidentiality are foremost in all my professional relationships.
Life in Hawaii
The Big Island has unsurpassed climate, ever-changing beautiful blue water, rugged mountains, and lush rain forests, as well as plenty of wide-open spaces and solitude. Water charges my batteries. In Idaho, it was water skiing (9 months of the year). Here in paradise, every day, I enjoy swimming, snorkeling, surfing, paddling in, or, at the very least, looking at the Pacific Ocean. I have seen magnificent sunsets all over the world. Nothing compares to watching the sun set from atop Mauna Kea at 13,803 feet above sea level. One of my favorite features of Volcano National Park is the hike through Kilauea-iki. Although I have no intention of competing, I enjoy volunteering for the Ironman Championship each October. One of many rich experiences was the privilege of training for and becoming a regatta paddler with Kawaihae Canoe Club. Just the good medicine of walking along the beach at sunset is reason enough for me to call Hawaii home. There is no place I would rather be.
